What does RSS (Really Simple Sindication) imply?

Every one in the website tells about RSS feed. What is its fuction and how?


Simple but only convincing answers expected. Those who are really knowledgible with such matters should answer in a way so that even a layman may at least have an idea.

What does RSS (Really Simple Sindication) imply?
RSS is a family of Web feed formats used to publish frequently updated content such as blog entries, news headlines, and podcasts. An RSS document (which is called a "feed" or "web feed" or "channel") contains either a summary of content from an associated web site or the full text. RSS makes it possible for people to keep up with web sites in an automated manner that can be piped into special programs or filtered displays
Reply:RSS is a standard format for syndicating content on the Internet. The content can be anything! Often information contained in an RSS feed is syndicated on other sites which expands its reach.





Website visitors love RSS because they choose which feeds they wish to subscribe to, if at any point they are unhapy with the content contained in the RSS feed they simply unsubscribe and no longer receive notification of feed updates.





RSS is really a win, win for both subscribers and publishers.





In order to get a better understanding of how RSS works download an RSS reader or use a web aggregator and subscribe to an RSS feed (they are usually indicated by a small orange icon).
Reply:Its a method of providing the latest topics to a subscriber by the creator. when you subscribe to one, there is a web address in the RSS feed file through which new content added to the feed could be accessed by the subscriber.
