I've noticed all these RSS feeds available on Yahoo. What will it look like on my computer and can I access it with dial-up internet service?
What are RSS feeds and can I have them if I am on dial-up?
RSS Feeds are a new way for websites to transmit information. RSS stands for "Real Simple Syndication," and is essentially a stream of information which updates subscribers about the site's status. Usually, RSS is used to let people know about updates to a site, for example, new stories.
In order to take advantage of RSS, you need an RSS reader program. There are several available.
Since you mentioned Yahoo feeds, it is worth mentioning that "My Yahoo" is an RSS reader. You can subscribe to RSS feeds through "My Yahoo," and it takes care of the rest.
Another online feed reader is "Google Reader" (http://google.com/reader/).
Either one will work for you, and they are available regardless of whether you have dial-up or not. Note, however, that you can only take advantage of RSS while you are online.
